He couldn't rest and sleep. It was nightmare. We treated it with Dr's Rx antibiotics starting from Azythromicine to Amoxyline family, but found Goldenseal extract was best. From last couple of years we dont see this hyper restlessness and seperation anxiety but we see onset of ocd's to repeat things such as poring water or going to pee again and again. Going to one specific toilet only (toilet from other room) . After peeing he still pulls down pant 3 to 4 times. Saw this reďuced on liposomal quercetin. So that's why we were thinking histamines as root cause. Do you think this changed ocd's to goto toilet is pans/pandas. This is not his regular habit, now atleast he smiles, last year around May, june we had same issue but at that time he smiled and enjoyed very less. He doesn't touch pee pee so may be its not oxalates as well. Last year we consulted functional Dr B, he recommended Hydroxyzine, phosphatidylserine, Phosphatidyl Choline, 5HTP. If we know what we are dealing with then may be we can help our child. Now used Amoxyline for a week, At the moment using hydroxyzine, giving little goldenseal root extract, will try verapamil. In our case, the child calmed down, he is autistic but he is no longer agitated and aggressive, try to treat the child with antiparasitic drugs, antibiotics, antifungals. On the speaking side, we don't have an increase, but he is more vocal, the words he knows, he says them many times, he is more present. We are dealing with a dysregulated immune system in autism and viruses make their way head, take a look at lyme, strep, candida here is the problem.Buga Dragosnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-655962722302095847.post-69559735667141019352022-11-06T22:11:48.908+01:002022-11-06T22:11:48.908+01:00Janu, if he is zoned out then you really should tr...Janu, if he is zoned out then you really should try Bumetanide. Did it make any difference in speech at all? My son is 4 years old and totally mute. Main problem with my son is he is too quiet, zoned out and in his own world. I know a lot of children present as hyperactive, SIB and aggression. But my son is the opposite. He is not that buzzing and lively a child should be. The only thing that got him to babble a lot with very poor approximations of words (this a great move for a child who has zero words) is , I think L.Reuteri Biogaia Protectis 30 drops and a pinch of L Reuteri Biogaia Osfortis (Alli's formula). I was initially thinking it was PharmEPA (EPA oil). So I stopped the L.Reuteri treatment and I'm seeing regression now. The interaction, liveliness and frequent babbling/vocalizations is now gone. But I still do feel that PharmEPA is helping but not to the extent I saw with Reuteri. I haven't resumed with Reuteri yet. Honestly I need to do more trials to confirm this. So whatever I saw with Reuteri, I'm not sure if it was due to it's immune suppressing effect or increasing oxytocin or both. Now Reuteri is supposedly lowering his immune system (Th1), which I would think is not good when you have bacteria or parasites or viruses. I'm so confused and wondering if the underlying issues are pathogens or the overactive immune system or who knows maybe both.JANUnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-655962722302095847.post-42686122634940920472022-11-04T20:57:01.765+01:002022-11-04T20:57:01.765+01:00Hello Buga Dragos, is the treatment still working?...Hello Buga Dragos, is the treatment still working? There was a trial of FMT on 5 children with Tourette's with 4 of them showing significant improvement.

https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fpsyt.2020.554441/full

Each of them had tics for at least a year and were treatment resistant. The donor was the same for all 5 and he was someone handpicked because of his efficacy in a previous trial for Ulcerative Colitis. One child (patient 3) actually went from a severity score of 35/50 to 0/50 - complete remission.

One interesting thing I have noticed in FMT trials is that, while a lot of secondary metrics are recorded - mainly alpha and beta diversity of microbiota, serum 5-HT levels, cytokine levels, there doesn't seem to be any clear correlation between the outcome and these metrics.

Anveshdeathmetal124https://www.blogger.com/profile/01648315648704509821noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-655962722302095847.post-71728824568406171702022-11-02T15:54:12.858+01:002022-11-02T15:54:12.858+01:00So we did try Metronidazole (Flagyl) after a gap o...So we did try Metronidazole (Flagyl) after a gap of about 10 days for 2-3 days. Same dosage but this time we added Fluconazole to make sure we don't clear the way for yeast to grow. Did not notice any effect this time though. Either the vacation days were interesting enough for my son to come out of his shell and interact more. Or flagyl had some one-time effect on him which we did not see again.

Since we had already introduced antibiotics, we gave him Augmentin right after Flagyl to see if it had any effect through its glutamate inhibiting action.
